The MV-1, manufactured by the Vehicle Production Group, is a revolutionary new entry into the market and optimizes unparalleled accessibility for all passengers — without compromise. Made in the USA, the MV-1 is the first vehicle designed from the ground floor up for accessibility. It is also the first purpose-built vehicle to fully meet or exceed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. The dynamic power ramp system of the MV-1, which deploys from within the vehicle floor, gives you easy entry and exit while maintaining a generous amount of interior space and seating for five (and with the optional jump seat, six). That being said, the MV-1 has more cargo capacity than that of any luxury sedan so you do not have to compromise passenger comfort or cargo space.
VPG’s mission is: “To help those with mobility challenges find mobility solutions by developing unique, purpose-built vehicles that allow them to travel with comfort and dignity.”
So, who manufactures the MV-1? The Vehicle Production Group LCC or “VPG” is a new, southern Florida-based automotive company. VPG designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes the all-new MV-1 Mobility Vehicle. The MV-1 has one of the highest U.S. parts contents of any OEM vehicle sold in North America. It meets the “Buy America Act” requirements for domestic content required for funding by the FTA. The MV-1 is proudly manufactured in the USA at the AM General Assembly Plant in Mishawaka, Indiana.
The MV-1 vehicle is built according to principles of universal design. That means the MV-1 optimizes the design for all riders without compromise – including those that are mobility challenged in wheelchairs as well as other passengers. The interior of the MV-1 boasts a Best-in-Class interior volume with plenty of room. The standard MV-1 offers a lot of cargo space with a generous 36.4 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row bench seat.
While there are many other mobility options available in the marketplace, this is the first purpose-built Mobility Vehicle to be designed and manufactured by an Original Equipment Manufacturer. Other after-market options are highly-modified vehicles that often undergo extensive deconstruction, which could possibly affect their overall structural integrity, safety, quality, and reliability. These after-market “conversion” vehicles can be very expensive and do not come with the factory warranty provided by the MV-1, a factory-direct, purpose built vehicle. And best of all, it can fit in standard garages and parking structures.
